Step 1: Get your passport at registration
When you check in, you’ll receive your Greetings from ShutterFest Passport booklet.
Right after you get your badge, we’re taking your passport photo on-site. We’ll print it immediately with a Canon SELPHY QX20 and you’ll stick it right into the front page.
Step 2: Work the floor
This includes Vendors + Platform 23 + RAH + The Creator Lab
Every single station has their own unique sticker (their version of a stamp). No repeats. No generic stuff. Each one is tied to that specific vendor/station.
Your job is simple: Stop by every vendor booth, Platform 23, RAH, and the Creator Lab, and get their sticker placed in your passport by a verified representative. That part matters, because yes… we know people will try to be slick.
Step 3: Get validated at Customs
Once your passport is full, you take it to the SF Customs stand.
They’ll validate it and that’s what officially enters you into the Grand Prize giveaway valued at over $5k.
Step 4: Watch the clock
You have until 4:30pm on Thursday, April 9th to get your passport validated at Customs.
After that, you can still keep your passport (obviously), but you’re not getting entered. Customs closes. We all go home (not really, but the empty show floor will feel like it).
Step 5: Live drawing at closing
Your passport is yours to keep, period.
And then Thursday night in the Grand Hall at the Closing Party, at around 9-9:30pm (we will send an app notification out with a 15 minute heads up), Sal will do the drawing live at closing and we’ll crown the winner.
That’s it.
Go make the rounds. Meet people. Touch the gear. Ask questions. Stop treating the vendor floor like a hallway to your next class.
