The Boudoir Prompt Playbook: 20 Posing Prompts to Take Your Work From Awkward to Iconic
Class Description:
Boudoir photography is about so much more than posing…it’s about creating an experience where women feel confident, connected, empowered, and beautiful in their own skin. The right prompt doesn’t just change a pose; it changes the energy of the session. It softens tension, creates emotion, builds trust, and helps clients relax into authentic moments that feel sensual and real.
In The Boudoir Prompt Playbook, Jenn Maesen shares 20 of her favorite posing prompts designed to help photographers create more variety, movement, emotion, and connection in their boudoir sessions. This demo class is designed to help photographers move beyond stiff, repetitive posing and instead learn how to guide clients naturally through a session using emotional prompting, subtle movement, body language, and connection-focused direction.
Jenn will provide attendees with prompts for standing poses, sitting poses, bed poses, and floor poses. Attendees will learn how to direct women of all body types and confidence levels using movement-based posing, micro-adjustments, breathing cues, emotional prompting, and confidence-inspired direction techniques that create imagery that feels elevated and emotionally connected.
This class will also teach photographers how micro adjustments in posture, hands, gaze, breathing, tension, facial expression, and body angles can completely transform an image from “pretty” into something truly stunning. Jenn will demonstrate how to create emotional shifts throughout a session, moving naturally between softness, confidence, sensuality, playfulness, and power without breaking the flow.
Attendees will leave with a repeatable posing framework and 20 versatile prompts they can immediately apply to create more impactful boudoir imagery. Attendees will photograph models while practicing prompting techniques and posing transitions, creating portfolio-worthy imagery designed to attract high-end boudoir clients and elevate the overall client experience.
This isn’t a class about memorizing poses. It’s about learning how to guide women into feeling beautiful and creating imagery that feels as powerful as the experience itself.
What to Bring to Class:
Attendees will need to bring their camera and lenses and should know how to use their gear.
Class Description:
Boudoir doesn’t have to stay hidden behind studio walls and bedroom sets. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for your clients is invite them out into the world, into the open air, the city streets, the rooftops, the alleyways, the sunlight, and the freedom of being fully seen and immersed in nature.
In this hands-on class, Jenn Maesen teaches photographers how to create bold, artistic, and emotionally empowering outdoor boudoir experiences using urban backdrops and natural elements. This class is all about breaking out of comfort zones, embracing adventure, and learning how to create imagery that feels raw, confidence-inspiring, and completely different from traditional indoor boudoir.
Attendees will learn the important foundations of planning and executing successful outdoor boudoir sessions, including location scouting, timing and lighting considerations, client wardrobe and styling, safety, boundaries, professionalism, client communication, posing in public spaces, and how to help clients feel comfortable and confident while shooting outdoors.
Then it’s time to hit the streets of St. Louis and create. Attendees will photograph models while learning how to use urban textures, architecture, natural elements, and environmental storytelling to create striking imagery filled with movement, emotion, and personality. Jenn will also demonstrate how to incorporate props, natural light, and off-camera flash to add depth, mood, variety, and artistic edge to outdoor boudoir sessions.
This class goes beyond simply taking boudoir photos outside. It’s about creating an unforgettable experience for your clients, one that feels adventurous, freeing, empowering, and alive. Attendees will leave with portfolio-worthy images, practical outdoor boudoir techniques, confidence directing clients in public spaces, and creative tools they can immediately use to create sessions that feel authentic, bold, and wildly fun. Boudoir isn’t just about being photographed. Sometimes it’s about taking up space in the world and feeling fearless while doing it.
