Encore! How to Play Second Fiddle like a Rockstar: The Dynamics of Second Shooting

Lecture

Beginner, Intermediate

Class Description:

You all loved it last year and asked for more, so I’m bringing back the most in-depth second-shooting course you can find. Think second shooting means playing sidekick and staying out of the way? Think again! It’s an essential, skilled role that can boost your confidence, grow your portfolio, and open doors to future opportunities. Drawing on over a decade of experience photographing weddings across New England and South Florida, from small barn weddings to celebrity soirees with over 1200 guests, I’ve photographed it all as a second. I’ll walk you through how to get booked for second shooting gigs and how to prepare yourself to show up ready and professional. We’ll cover the important questions to ask leads before the wedding, how to know what and when to shoot on the big day, and how to support the lead photographer without stepping on toes. You’ll learn how to support the lead with professionalism and purpose while still creating work you’re proud to call your own. You’ll also learn insider tips on leaving such a great impression on couples that your name becomes part of their glowing reviews, helping you get hired again and again.

This class is perfect for photographers who are new to weddings or anyone looking to sharpen their second shooting skills with practical advice, clear expectations, and a warm, encouraging approach.

Polished Posing: Tiny Tweaks to Make Your Clients Move Like Models

Live Demonstration

Beginner, Intermediate

Class Description:

When photographing portraits, many photographers focus on their client’s pose as a whole, but the magic is usually in the tiny adjustments. In this class, we’ll break down the subtle tweaks that make clients move and photograph like models across weddings, seniors, boudoir, and other portrait work. Learn how to refine hand placement, posture, eye direction, weight distribution, movement, and all the little in-between details that instantly elevate your images from “good enough” to polished and professional. You’ll even get a chance to try some of the techniques on yourself during class so that you can have an even better understanding of the material and be able to implement what you learned immediately at your next shoot during the conference! We love instant gratification, amirite?

What to Bring to Class:

No prerequisites needed, just an open mind and willingness to participate when asked!

The Inquiry Edit: Refining Your Client Communication Workflow

Lecture

Intermediate

Class Description:

Ever have a wedding inquiry hit your inbox and suddenly in the midst of the excitement, you think “Oh sh*t, now what?” In this class, we’ll break down exactly how I handle wedding inquiries from the first contact to booked client without sounding robotic, overly salesy, or like I copied an email template from 2014. I’ll walk you through how I respond depending on where the inquiry was received, what I actually talk about on Discovery Calls, how I build connection and trust quickly, how I discuss pricing naturally, and how I close calls in a way that keeps couples feeling excited, not pressured. If you’ve ever stared at an inquiry email wondering how to sound professional, but also like a real human being, this class is for you! You’ll come away with my full real-world workflow that helps me book the right clients that align with my brand and that makes the booking process so much less stressful for both you and your potential client.
