Curtiss Bryant’s Classes:
Class Description:
In this class, ShutterFest attendees will dive into the fast-paced world of volume photography — without losing creativity, sanity, or profit. From schools and sports to dance studios, leagues, and high-volume portrait events, this class breaks down how to create an efficient system that delivers a polished client experience at scale.
We’ll cover workflow, lighting setups, posing efficiency, sales strategies, staffing, organization, delivery timelines, and how to keep quality high while moving fast. You’ll learn how to turn volume photography into a repeatable, profitable part of your business instead of a burnout machine.
Whether you’re photographing 20 kids or 2,000, this class is about building systems that scale, creating an experience people remember, and making volume photography feel a whole lot less… volume-y.
What to Bring to Class:
Class Description:
In this hands-on ShutterFest class, we’re diving into what really separates average senior sessions from the kind that generate excitement, referrals, wall art sales, and social media buzz. This class isn’t just about taking pretty pictures — it’s about creating an unforgettable EXPERIENCE seniors and parents are eager to invest in.
Attendees will learn how to direct seniors naturally, build confidence in front of the camera, create authentic emotion, style sessions for maximum impact, and turn ordinary locations into magazine-worthy portraits.
This will be an interactive shooting class where attendees can help direct, pose, light, and creatively shape the session in real time while learning how to think through an image from concept to final shot.
If you want senior sessions that stand out in a crowded market and create clients who rave about you long after the session ends, this class is for you.
What to Bring to Class:
Bring your camera and a wide and telephoto lens.
Class Description:
An Interactive Senior Portrait Photowalk
What separates a good photographer from a great one? The ability to see the image before the camera ever comes up.
In this interactive photowalk experience, YOU guide the experience. We will walk with our model around Union Station and attendees will guide the adventure by pointing out locations, light, backgrounds, textures, or random scenes around the venue that catch their eye. From there, I’ll break down my entire thought process in real time — how I evaluate the light, choose the angle, build the composition, direct the subject, and transform an ordinary space into a cinematic portrait.
This class is less about camera settings and more about learning how to see. You’ll get an inside look at how to think creatively on location, adapt quickly, and build compelling portraits almost anywhere.
We’ll cover:
How to “see” portraits before shooting
Evaluating light, composition, and background quickly
Turning ordinary locations into epic portrait setups
Real-time creative problem solving
Posing and directing subjects naturally
Environmental storytelling techniques
Building confidence in unfamiliar shooting situations
No slides. No scripts. Just creative chaos, exploration, and learning how to think like a portrait artist in real time.
You pick the spot. We create the image together.
What to Bring to Class:
Feel free to bring your camera to capture some behind the scenes images as I create them. This will help you remember what we did. I will also be shooting to a live app so you can follow along in real time from your phone and see what I am shooting as I shoot it.
