Today, it is with a very heavy heart that we have to announce the cancellation of ShutterFest 20. In working with the hotel (who have been incredible by the way) and the City – it has become clear with the new restrictions in place, it will not be possible to deliver ShutterFest in a way that even remotely adheres to the restrictions. Imagine a trade-show floor normally shoulder to shoulder trying to adhere to the 6ft rule. Imagine our opening session with over 2000 people sitting side by side now needing 6ft of space between seats (front, back, left, and right). These and many other restrictions make it impossible for us to deliver the event and kick us into Force Majeure.
FOR ALL 2020 TICKET HOLDERS YOUR TICKETS HAVE BEEN MOVED TO 2021. There is nothing further you need to do.
We appreciate your understanding. This was no easy decision. In fact, until I started typing this I think we have all been living in a little bit of denial hoping that somehow we would all wake up from this bad dream.
We have grown this incredible community from this crazy idea of a hands-on conference we were told would never work – 400 people the first year – to the powerhouse of over 2400 people it is today. Our community extends far beyond the annual event. ShutterFest has spawned off countless friendships, local groups, and a new crop of photographers around the world. Our collective influence is shaping the future of photography.
